Workshops and readings

Dave is experienced in leading workshops with all age groups in schools, libraries, playschemes, youth clubs, day centres, prisons, etc. on Merseyside and nationally.

Workshops begin with game strategies to introduce ideas for writing.
This can be extended into compilation of anthologies and workshops in performance and choral poetry.

Readings, followed by question and answer sessions, are taken from Dave's published collections and works in progress.

Dave works with pupils in all Key Stages and can offer INSET for teachers.

"The day was hugely successful, both children and staff learnt a lot - the work the children created was very impressive",/b>
- Pinehurst Infant School
"Dave was an inspiration to the students - they have begun writing a piece of original writing for their GCSE in English which is extremely helpful. It was a real privilege to have Dave at the school - some students were in awe and inspired by his writing"
Belinda Ludlow, The Bluecoat School.

Reviews
"Thought-provoking, satirical and imaginative - a good starting point for classroom discussion, a stimulus for imaginative writing - it will read aloud extremely well."
Carol Wooley, 'School Librarian', on Candy and Jazzz.

"Jambo remains the decade's most pertinent youth-oriented poem-cycle."
'Reading The Applause' (published by NAWE)
